Marcus Mumford to Pen Unheard Bob Dylan Tracks

Marcus MumfordMarcus Mumford is using unheard Bob Dylan lyrics for a new project.

The Mumford and Sons frontman has penned new words to unfinished tracks written by the legendary folk singer in the late sixties during his The Basement Tapes period, for a new album entitled Lost On The River: The New Basement Tapes.

"These are not B-level Dylan lyrics. They're lyrics he just never got around to finishing," producer T Bone Burnett - who also worked with Elvis Costello, 59,for the project - told the LA Times newspaper.

Dylan's 1975 album The Basement Tapes was mostly recorded in the basement of the The Band's Big Pink House - a home the Canadian-American rock group shared in New York - after they toured with the singer in 1966, however this time the material is being recorded at Hollywood's Capitol Studios.

P. Diddy Returns to Being Puff Daddy

Sean P. Diddy wants to be known as Puff Daddy again.

The rap mogul - real name Sean Combs - announced in 2001 that he had changed his stage name to P. Diddy, but started using the moniker he was best known by in the late '90s again this week, as he took to Twitter to share a teaser for his upcoming video "Big Homie," in which he introduces himself as Puff Daddy.

The 44-year-old star, who is gearing up to release his first album in four years, titled MMM, this year, hit back at fans for criticizing him for making another name change and insisted he's simply going back to the name he has "always used." Addressing the issue on Monday, the record producer tweeted, "For the record, I did not change my name. I always have been and always will be PUFF DADDY! 😊 Be cool Man lol #MMM #BigHomie RT!!!! [sic]." He later asked, "#DIDDYORDADDY ???"

The rapper, who is also sometimes referred to by friends as Puff or Puffy, decided to change his name 13 years ago after he was acquitted on gun-possession and bribery charges in New York City.

Jennifer Lopez’s Divorce Inspired New Album

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Pop,

Jennifer LopezJennifer Lopez claims her divorce inspired her new album.

The 44-year-old star has revealed her split from ex-husband Marc Anthony in 2011, after eight years of marriage, was a "turning point" in her life and gave her a different perspective on love, which she has written about for her tenth record.

"What I thought about love for my first nine albums is very different from what I think about it now after everything I've been through. My goal was to just be as honest as I could. You know, I'd gone through a lot in my life right at that point when I went on tour. I'd been through a divorce. A lot of things had happened. I really felt like it was a turning point in my life," Jennifer - who has six-year-old twins Max and Emme with the Latin singer - told Popcrush.com.

The "On The Floor" hitmaker - who started dating her 26-year-old former back-up dancer, Casper Smart, just months after splitting from Marc - also spoke about the video for new single, "I Luh Ya Papi," and admits she enjoyed working with topless male models for the promo: "It was a lot of fun. Let me tell you something, guys have been doing these videos for years because it's fun to do. When I was doing the song, I felt like it was very tongue-in-cheek... the video, we decided to do the same thing.

Kanye West Found the Next Rihanna?

Pia Mia PerezKanye West thinks he has found the next Rihanna.

The "Blood On The Leaves" singer is reportedly working in the studio with "hip" 17-year-old singer Pia Mia Perez and he is hoping to transform her into a star like the "Diamonds" hitmaker who has achieved global chart success.

"Kanye is producing some tracks for her and he's quite involved. He believes she could be the next Rihanna. [He] thinks she's young, fresh and hip - totally his target audience. He's been consulting her on a lot of his creative projects, including the Kanye x APC collection," a source said.

Pia - who is best friends with Kylie Jenner - first stepped into the spotlight last year when a video of her singing Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home" in front of the Canadian rapper and Kanye at a dinner party hosted by Kylie's family, including Kanye's fiancee Kim Kardashian, went viral on the internet.

U2 Album Won’t Be Released Until 2015

U2U2 won't release a new album until next year.

Although the band have performed live - appearing at The Oscars, The Golden Globes and on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon - and debuted two new tracks, "Ordinary Love" and "Invisible," they are still trying to perfect songs for their new album.

"It seems to be taking longer for them to finish an album as they get older, but the great thing about U2 is that the whole of a record is always better than the sum of its parts. That magic that the band always seems to capture ... they have yet to capture it, a source told Billboard.

The album is being helmed by executive producer Danger Mouse and U2 - Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen - have scheduled further sessions with producers Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth to complete the as-yet-untitled record.

Rihanna to Release Concept Album Based on DreamWorks Animation

RihannaRihanna is working on a concept album for new animated film Home.

The superstar's next record will be entirely inspired by the new 3D DreamWorks Animation movie, in which she voices a teenager called Gratuity "Tip" Tucci.

Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation, revealed the news during the company's quarterly earnings announcement, explaining that Rihanna will perform new songs. While no further details have been confirmed, the release is likely to coincide with the film - based on author Adam Rex's 2007 children's book The True Meaning of Smekday - hitting cinemas this November.

The album will be Rihanna's first since 2012's Unapologetic, and a welcome return from the 26-year-old star, who released a new record every single year from 2009 until 2012. Despite taking a year off in 2013, the hardworking singer remained in the charts by collaborating with Eminem's smash hit "Monster" from his album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 and more recently with Shakira on "Can't Remember to Forget You."

Adele to Collaborate with Prince

Adele Prince

Adele is collaborating with Prince on a new track.

The "Skyfall" hitmaker has been discussing the possibility of recording a duet with the legendary singer for her upcoming third album. "The reason Adele only stayed a short time at Prince's gig at Ronnie Scott's in London was because it was just a business meeting and she had to get home. During their talks they got on like a house on fire. They want to work together for a track on her next album," a source said.

Lily Allen Names Album ‘Sheezus’ to Honor Kanye West

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Pop,

Lily AllenLily Allen will call her new album Sheezus as a tribute to Kanye West.

The "Air Balloon" singer insisted the name of the record - a parody of the rapper's latest album Yeezus - isn't intended as a joke as his expense, instead describing it as a sign of ''respect."

"With all my albums, I've just wanted to have a laugh. But yes, Sheezus, it's bold. But it's not taking the p**s out of Kanye at all. I've got nothing but respect for him. I love him ... So it is a little homage to him. I hope he doesn't think it's a diss. I'd be horrified if he thought that," she told The Sun.

The 28-year-old star also explained while Kanye is outspoken and controversial, he actually "makes total sense." She said,"I know people think he's crazy but most of what he says I think makes total sense. I mean there are a few exceptions but on the whole. He is one of the only people who says what he believes and people call him mad for it."

One Direction Working on New Album

One DirectionOne Direction have no plans to split up, and are writing new music.

The "Story of My Life" hitmakers - who released their latest album Midnight Memories late last year - have already started work on their fourth record and Liam Payne has insisted they won't be breaking up for a very long time.

"We have been writing away for the next album and rehearsals are just about to start soon for the tour. We're not splitting up. We're on WhatsApp messaging each other all the time, talking about song ideas and just funny stuff from our day. It's been a while since we have all been together so we are enjoying being back in each other's company," he said.

His band mate Harry Styles also claimed the group - completed by Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan - don't intend to call it quits, even if their career keeps them away from home for a long time. "We're not breaking up. We've spent every day together for months and forgot what my mum looked like. It's just holidays," he added.

50 Cent Signs with Indie Label

50 Cent50 Cent will release his next album on an indie label.

The "Candy Shop" hitmaker has severed ties with Eminem's Interscope imprint, Shady Records, after 12 years and will now be working with Caroline, a music distributor owned by Universal, starting with his album Animal Ambition, which is due out on June 3.

"I recorded so many album quality songs that I'm going to put the Animal project out as my viral marketing plan and then [Street King] will come out after. [Animal Ambition] is about prosperity ... ambition and prosperity," the star said in a statement.

The 38-year-old rapper has sold millions of albums for Interscope, including 15-million copies of his debut record, but the star's relationship with the label has been difficult since 2009's Before I Self Destruct, which failed to conquer the charts.
